Dancing is My Voice is an annual Zumbathon® Charity Event during National Hispanic Heritage Month which Event attempts to gather enough people on the National Mall in Washington, DC to break the Guinness Book of World Records for largest Zumba® class while raising awareness of sexual violence and raising money for RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization.

Current figures suggest that 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men will become a victim of sexual assault in his or her lifetime. I think about the men, women and children I care about — and I’m driven to take action. RAINN has helped me realize that there’s something I can do — something we can all do, to affect change.

Our team has a goal of raising $50,000 for RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization.
Dancing is My Voice will donate net proceeds from the Zumbathon® Charity Event to RAINN.  We thank you for donating directly to RAINN through this page.

Dancing is My Voice manages a database of user-reported names of known rapists, in an effort to start the first centralized Rapist Database.

With 99% of rapists never seeing a day of jail time and 98% of rapists being repeat offenders, there may be a way to find strength in numbers. Survivors rarely find justice through the courts but may have more courage to speak up if they were matched with other victims of the same perpetrators.

Reporting a rape is a very personal choice and is not the right choice for everyone. All information collected in the database will be kept confidential, but users may select the option of receiving a notice if another person enters the name of the same rapist in our database.

Dancing is My Voice may share counts with users (the number of times other users enter the same name) but will not share personal information between users. We realize that rapists may come to this source under the guise of victims in an effort to find out how many victims have entered their names, but that could also be a deterrent to future criminal activity. Dancing is My Voice considers the safety and confidentiality of survivors to be of the highest importance.
